Well, it's official. A casting call has been posted for young actors interested in playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the upcoming Harry Potter Max (formerly known as HBO Max) series. It seems like they're actually going through with it, and I am intrigued and compelled to see how it turns out. No matter what they do, this show will always be in the shadow of the original movies. The series will be depicting the exact same story, and I can't help but wonder if fans will criticize it more for diverging from the original films or staying too close to them. I don't think Max is in a place financially to have special effects on par with the movies. This whole endeavor feels pointless, but if it's worth hundreds of millions of dollars to you to have a film representation of Peeves, then I guess it will be worth it. If you're going to stick with your Harry Potter DVDs and tried and true fanfictions, these Harry Potter memes might be an alternative to this show.
