It's a pre-WWDC miracle: The 13-inch Apple MacBook Air with an M2 chip under its hood has plunged to an all-time low price ahead of its maker's annual developer conference. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage typically retails for $999, but Amazon has it on sale for only $829 as of June 3 — a rare $170 savings. (This same deal popped up twice in May, but only very briefly.)Elsewhere, this exact M2 MacBook Air configuration is still stuck at a prior record-low of $849 at Best Buy and Abt. It wasn't on sale at any other authorized Apple retailers like B&H Photo or Adorama at the time of writing.

For MacBook loyalists looking to upgrade, this previous-generation laptop is an affordable alternative to Apple's freshest M3 model that shouldn't give anyone major feature FOMO.
