Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Highlights Pitohui in Latest Character Trailer
The latest character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II TV anime series, highlighting the dangerous Pitohui. The anime is set to premiere in Japan on October 4, 2024.
Some staff members from the first season are returning to work on season two. Masayuki Sakoi is directing the second season, with Yosuke Kuroda as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Yoshio Kozakai as character designer. Studio 3Hz was credited for the animation production, although it was announced in June that the studio had transferred its planning and production business to A-1 Pictures.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
• Tomori Kusunoki as Karen Kohiruimaki/Llenn
• Yoko Hikasa as Pitohui/Elsa Kanzaki
• Kazuyuki Okitsu as M/Goshi Asogi
• Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh/Miyu Shinohara
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kino’s Journey author Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The series, which is published under ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Bunko label, was launched on December 10, 2014 and has released 13 volumes as of March 2023. A manga adaptation illustrated by Tadachi Tamori was also released in 2015.
