1 dead, 1 seriously injured in 'suspicious' house fire in Thompson
THOMPSON, Conn. (WTNH) — A person was found dead inside a home after it caught on fire under "suspicious" circumstances, according to state police.
A man also suffered serious burn-related injuries.
Troopers responded to the scene on the 500 block of Quaddick Town Farm Road just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. Detectives from the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit also responded at the request of the local fire marshal.

State police said they found a male with serious burn-related injuries approximately 200 feet into the woods on the property early Thursday morning. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The flames could be seen for miles.
“It was engulfed,” said Glenn Boss, of Thompson. “It was pretty intense.”
Margie Sali, who lives next door, was out-of-state the night before.
“We dreaded coming back really because I know what we were going to see so,” she said.
