Following “technical discussions” with Microsoft, missing Capcom games are now coming to Xbox

A couple months ago, Xbox was thrown into the centre of a new controversy when it was announced that the ‘Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics’ would not be coming to Xbox platforms – seemingly due to its use of the unsupported MT Framework. Microsoft was relatively quick to respond, working directly with Capcom to fix the issue – with the collection now officially coming to Xbox next year.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Capcom USA page shared the following:
“We're happy to announce that after technical discussions with our partners at Microsoft, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will release on Xbox One! Both Xbox versions arrive in 2025, so stay tuned for more information!”

For context, the ‘Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics’ is set to come to PlayStation, PC and Switch on the 12th of September, meaning Xbox players could be waiting quite some time to join in on the fun.
Fortunately, as the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is currently scheduled for a vague ‘2025’ release across all platforms, it’s possible that the Xbox version will be ready in time for a concurrent launch.
While this whole debacle has been somewhat unfortunate for Microsoft/Xbox, it is encouraging at the very least to see that the console maker is willing to work with publishers to solve such tech issues. Hopefully we don’t see a repeat of such issues in the future.
KitGuru says: Are you pleased by these recent developments? Do you think the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will launch concurrently on Xbox? Let us know down below. The post Following “technical discussions” with Microsoft, missing Capcom games are now coming to Xbox first appeared on KitGuru.
