Caitlin Clark lands huge new TV job weeks before start of WNBA season

Caitlin Clark has landed a new television role, as she will join the alternate broadcast of the March Madness women's championship game on Sunday alongside Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi.
During the women's Final Four over the last few years, 'The Bird & Taurasi Show' has been offered separate from the regular broadcast, much in the same vein Peyton and Eli Manning have a separate show from Monday Night Football.
The basketball legends announced Clark's participation in the broadcast in the closing moments of UConn's victory over UCLA on Friday night.
It will be the Huskies taking on South Carolina in the championship game, with the Gamecocks trying to repeat as title winners.
It was Clark's Iowa team that stopped a possible four-peat for Dawn Staley's squad with the Hawkeyes' Final Four win in 2023.
Clark will be sat between two of the best women's basketball players for the championship game, despite any previous tension between her and Taurasi.

Taurasi was coy to talk openly about Clark and her contributions to women's basketball when they were competitors last season.
The duo played for their respective teams and on both sides of the WNBA All-Star Game, when Taurasi was part of Team USA.
Any rivalry between the best from different generations appears to be now done.
Taurasi harkened back to when Clark joined the show when she was a college athlete, not with the Indiana Fever.
'She was a college kid. Caitlin’s grown. Boy, Caitlin’s amazing,' Taurasi said.
Clark has stayed mostly silent since her rookie season ended, declining to play in the new Unrivaled basketball league. Now, she is coming back into the forefront on the small screen. Her sophomore professional season kicks off next month.
