2026 4-star CB Jamarrion Gordon commits to Alabama
Kalen DeBoer has landed his first commitment of the 2026 recruiting class for Alabama.
Jackson (Ala.) four-star cornerback Jamarrion Gordon tells On3 that he has committed to the Crimson Tide. He chose ‘Bama over LSU and Georgia.
Gordon said he has visited Tuscaloosa twice since the new staff was hired, and that he informed Alabama of his decision on Friday.
“It came down to how they recruited me, Alabama being Alabama and how close it is to home,” Gordon said. “I am used to winning and I want to win and have success. At Alabama I believe I can do those things.”
Gordon explained that he “just had that feeling about Alabama,” and that he didn’t know he was going to commit this early in the cycle. He credits his relationship with defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist.
“I wasn’t too high on Alabama before the new staff, but they changed it for me,” Gordon said. “They came in, recruited me hard and built that relationship with me and my family. We felt good about Alabama, so I went ahead and committed to them.”
“I like coach Mo a lot,” he added. “He is going to keep it real and not just tell you what you want to hear. He really recruited me hard and we have a great relationship. Coach Mo recruited me when he was at Buffalo too and that is where our relationship started.”
DeBoer also played a factor in Gordon’s recruitment.
“Coach DeBoer is great, I like him,” Gordon said. “I have visited Alabama twice since he took over and he has been great. He is a winning coach and he is going to do what he is supposed to do at Alabama.”
Gordon said he plans to be back in Tuscaloosa sometime this June.
