Meg Ryan Returns to Met Gala for First Time in Over 20 Years in Statement-Making Sheer Dress
Along with regulars like Zendaya, Cardi B and Kendall Jenner, the 2024 Met Gala also featured actress Meg Ryan's big return to the fashion event after 23 years. Ryan looked ageless as she arrived on the iconic carpet in a stunning sleeveless black gown from designer Michael Kors with a sheer top covered in sequined floral embellishments that swirled down the rest of the dress in a reference to the "Garden of Time" theme. While she accessorized in colorful jewelry, the 62-year-old went for a simple makeup look and wore her hair in her signature wavy bob. At one point, designer Kors joined her for some photos, with the two posing in matching dark sunglasses. The actress looked relaxed and confident at the event, surrounded by other guests like Dua Lipa and Gabrielle Union.

The Sleepless in Seattle star's appearance at the 2024 event marks her first time attending the Met Gala since 2001 when the theme was "Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years."At the time, Ryan experienced extreme success in her career after making her mark as the queen of romantic comedies, with the hit film You've Got Mail, also starring Tom Hanks, coming out only a few years before in 1998.Over two decades later, Ryan has made her return to both the Met Gala and romantic movies, starring in the 2023 film What Happens Later with David Duchovny.
