Ant and Dec’s first Saturday Night Takeaway contestant is now a Coronation Street icon

After seriously digging into the TV archives, we’ve managed to find the moment Coronation Street’s Jodie Prenger featured on the very first episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Honestly, the things we do.
Actress and West-End legend Jodie Prenger now plays the role of Glenda Shuttleworth in the ITV soap. In this clip from Ant and Dec’s popular gameshow, Jodie is seen taking part in the first ever game of Win the Ads.
In case you’ve been living under a rock over the past 20 years, Win the Ads sees a member of the audience answer a variety of general knowledge questions to be in with a chance of winning the contents of the ad breaks from an ITV show.

The pilot episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, which aired way back in 2002, sees Jodie gamble the prizes she won in the first round, to answer the make or break question.
Tension music please!
After pondering over whether Ant or Dec is the eldest out of the duo, Jodie guesses Dec and manages to take home all of the 25 prizes!

Ant previously revealed their hiatus was put in place ahead of him becoming a first-time dad when wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, gives birth.
The couple welcomed their child in May of this year.
‘Part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family,’ he said earlier this year. ‘We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.’

Over in Weatherfield, Jodie Prenger has been playing the role of Glenda since 2022.
Brother to George (Tony Maudsley), Glenda recently discovered their father Archie Shuttleworth left the funeral parlour in both of their names in his will, not just George.
As a feud kicked off between the siblings, George ended up snapping at Glenda, saying he runs the funeral parlour himself because she’s a liability and cannot be trusted!
