Vanna White has been an integral part of Wheel of Fortune for years. Although she spent decades working alongside Pat Sajak, she also seems to have hit it off with her current co-star, Ryan Seacrest. In fact, White recently stole the show during a recent promo for the game show, sharing her pet name for Seacrest.
Vanna White & Ryan Seacrest Appear To Get Along On Wheel Of Fortune, From Promos To Episodes
White has been a co-host on Wheel of Fortune since 1982. Initially one of three substitute hostesses, she ended up becoming the regular hostess towards the year’s end.
For decades, White famously worked alongside host Pat Sajak. However, in late 2024, Sajak would leave the show, with his role being taken over by American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest.

Although he hasn’t worked with her as long as Sajak, Seacrest and White appear to get along quite well with each other. The two can often be seen smiling and joking with each other during promos and episodes of the show.
During a recent promo for Wheel of Fortune, the two even described their nicknames for each other. As Seacrest explained, “Earlier during the break, I called Vanna her nickname, ‘V-Dubs’. I said, ‘Come on, V Dubs. We gotta go!’ And that’s not the first time, right?”
That said, White teased that Seacrest wasn’t the first person to call her that. Her longtime boyfriend, John Donaldson, also calls her “V Dubs.”
White then asked Seacrest if he had any nicknames. He claimed that he didn’t have one, but didn’t seem against someone picking a name for him.
Fans Were Called To Share Their Own Nicknames For Seacrest
On social media, White tried out a few possible nicknames for Ryan. This included “R-Sea”, “Ry-Guy”, and “Ryan-Stone Cowboy.” During the clip, Seacrest seemed to like “Ryan-Stone Cowboy,” a play on “rhinestone cowboy,” which he even repeated.
Cutting back to the stage, White admitted that she simply liked “Ryan” the best. For his part, Seacrest admitted a nickname has to come naturally. Of course, he once again appeared fond of “Ryan-Stone Cowboy.” However, he soon changed his tune, noting, “Nah, it doesn’t have a ring to it.”
The post then called out to fans, asking what they thought Ryan’s nickname should be. As the caption shared, “We’re still in the market for a nickname for Ryan so drop your suggestions in the comments!!”
Some fans shared their own suggestions, while others shared Vanna’s suggestions that they liked. A few even shared the nicknames they had for the other “Ryan’s” in their own lives. Some comments included:

“I was thinking Ryman.”
“I like Ry-Ry!”
“I’m still liking from a few months ago Ryanstone Cowboy. Big Money Seacrest – since he multitasks through many jobs! Rynator, Rylentless Ryan.”

“My son’s middle name is Ryan. And if I was to give this Ryan a nickname, it would be Rhinehart, because just like my son, he has a big heart….”
