Plot – what’s the story about?
Bionic’s story is set in the year 2035 in a dystopian environment, where technology and bionic augmentations have dramatically changed the lives of human beings. The change has also significantly contributed to the world of sports as it has turned paralympic athletes into new sports stars.
The main narrative follows Maria, who competes against her sister in the sport of long-jump seeking to achieve great fame and glory. However, Maria’s ambitions soon lead her down a path of crime and violence, where she ends up meeting a bunch of dubious individuals who have their perspectives on the current state of their world. Viewers will be treated to a series exploring morality and familial complications in a cyberpunk setting that has a lot of adrenaline-rushing action.
