Indianapolis Colts forced to delete schedule release video after poking fun at Tyreek Hill's

By OLIVER SALT

The Indianapolis Colts have sparked outrage after depicting Tyreek Hill's infamous 2024 arrest in their schedule release video, before deleting it and apologizing to the Miami Dolphins star.

As is tradition on schedule release day, the Colts joined every other NFL team in devising a creative video to unveil their slate of fixtures for 2025.

Their thinking was to put together a Minecraft-style clip using the same graphics as the popular video game as they rattled through each of their matchups, yet they were quickly forced to delete it after crossing the line with a joke about their Week 1 clash with the Dolphins.

With Miami set to visit them on the opening weekend of the season, Indianapolis announced the fixture by depicting Hill as a dolphin being detained by a coast guard in the sea - a reference to his shocking arrest on the first Sunday of the 2024 campaign.

The controversial wide receiver was pulled over by police while heading to the Dolphins' season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and placed in handcuffs after being accused of driving carelessly while making his way to Hard Rock Stadium.

Disturbing bodycam footage of the incident showed officers using excessive force to arrest him on the day, but Hill was still able to line up for Miami and inspire a victory over Jacksonville just hours later.

His two citations, which also included a seatbelt violation, were eventually tossed by the Miami-Dade Police Department after an officer involved in the arrest failed to show up to a hearing.

The Colts poking fun at his arrest was met by a backlash on social media, forcing them to delete the entire video.

They were also mocked by one of their rival teams after removing it, with the Houston Texans sharing a screenshot of the deleted post on X and writing: 'Error404'.

DailyMail.com reached out to the Indianapolis Colts for comment, with the team admitting their joke was 'insensitive' while apologizing to Hill.

The statement reads: 'We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek.'

Hill has encountered various run-ins with the law during his NFL career, most recently having the police called on him in April over a domestic dispute with his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, who reportedly wants a divorce.

The 31-year-old was described as 'very aggressive and impulsive' by his wife's mother, Alesia Vaccaro, who said she feared for the safety of her daughter.

Hill is gearing up for his 10th season in the NFL and fourth with the Dolphins in the 2025 campaign.

He recently had a second procedure on his wrist, posting from his hospital bed last week that everything went according to plan.

The Dolphins wideout had an initial operation on a ligament issue earlier this year and now has undergone a follow-up to remove screws, according to ESPN.

He shared a picture from his hospital bed - where he looked a little drowsy - saying: 'Surgery went amazing today!!!'.

Hill hurt his wrist in a practice game against the Washington Commanders but played through the pain for the Dolphins in 2024 rather than have what would have been season-ending surgery.

His future at the Dolphins has been under scrutiny in recent months.

He appeared to take himself out the team's final game of the 2024 season against the New York Jets, with head coach Mike McDaniel then denying Hill's claim that he was hurt and couldn't play.

Then, speaking with reporters after the game, he was visibly unhappy at missing the postseason.

'This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs, man,' Hill said. 'So I just got to do what’s best for me and my family.

'I’m opening the door. I’m out bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day I gotta do what’s best for my career because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.'
