As per ABC7 Chicago, in order to join the Mega Millions frenzy, one must invest at least $2 per play. Players must choose five numbers from the white ball pool, numbered 1 to 75, and a gold Mega ball pool, numbered 1 to 25. In order to win the jackpot, all numbers must match the winning combination. The Illinois winner got all the correct numbers – 19, 37, 40, 63, 69, and 17.
Now, the winner can claim $560 million in annual installments or opt for a one-time payout of $264 million.

The Illinois player bought the ticket online via the Illinois Lottery website, as per Mega Millions.
What makes this a groundbreaking moment is that it’s the first time someone got the Mega Millions ticket online and bagged a fortune. Usually, the tickets are sold across 45 states in the United States. One can purchase them at gas stations, convenience stores, and other on-site places.
