(Photo via Getty Images)The Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) will host more than 80 universities, organizations and student services this weekend at the largest college fair in the state, where students and their families can explore different college and career paths.
The Golden Circle College & Career Fair will take place from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona, according to a news release.

Public, private and community colleges will be in attendance, as well as apprenticeship programs, branches of the military, student support services and employers. According to the release, the fair’s mission is to connect prospective students with experts that can provide information on subjects like financial aid, admissions, academic and technical programs, campus life and career planning.
Students, families and educators are encouraged by the network to attend the free event, college transcripts and resumes in hand if they wish. Attendees can also sign up to create a StriveScan student barcode, which they can then share with colleges and universities in order to receive more information after the fair.
“Choosing the right post-high school path for education or training can be a daunting process, but events like this make it easier for students and their families to find the best fit for their educational and career goals,” said Brittania Morey, vice president of marketing and communications, in the release. “We’re excited to provide a platform where students can get their questions answered and start envisioning their future.”
