Jennifer Lopez's 2024 Met Gala Look Is Giving Naked Hummingbird

Twenty years ago, Lopez made her debut in a see-through corset gown with a flamenco-inspired twist. In 2015, she flaunted even more skin in a fiery Versace number. And naturally, she tapped into that same energy for 2024’s event. While others search far and wide for an inventive way of interpreting the annual theme, Lopez took a page from her own sartorial history and reinvented her risqué sensibilities. Incorporating this year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” her naked dress channeled a precious butterfly — one dripping in diamonds, pearls, and beads.The 2024 Met Gala Theme This year, the famed Met steps transformed into a massive flower garden, replete with a green carpet and heaps of living blooms. While the Costume Exhibit’s theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” the dress code is “The Garden of Time.” That translated to a forest of ensembles covering every type of floral. J.Lo’s Yassified Butterfly DressLopez’s choice of designer — Schiaparelli Haute Couture — was a match made in fashion heaven. The heritage label is known for its affinity for critters, from lobsters and crabs to winged insects. The silver number featured 2.5 million bugle beads and, according to Lopez, took about 800 hours of work. Naturally, she incorporated an outfit Easter egg as a nod to her artistry.
