John Foster might have finished his time on American Idol, but he is still making headlines. The Season 23 runner-up recently appeared at an event. The moment also allowed him to reunite with someone special in his life: his girlfriend, Brooklyn Bourque. This also comes out after the two recently celebrated a recent milestone together.
John Foster Showed Off His Talents As A Country Crooner On American Idol
Fans were introduced to Foster through Season 23 of the competition series. Throughout the season, Foster performed songs like “Jailhouse Rock,” “Something To Talk About,” and an original composition, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” which was dedicated to his late friend, Maggie Dunn.
Foster went far during the competition, becoming part of the Top 2 contestants. Ultimately, he ended up the season’s runner-up, with Jamal Roberts being declared the winner.

Foster might not have won the season, but his musical career is still taking off. As previously reported, it was recently announced that he would be making his Opry debut on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
According to Swooon, Foster is also in Nashville for the CMA Festival. Joining him at the event is his girlfriend, Brooklyn Bourque. The two even appeared together shared by the couple on social media.
Foster Also Showed A Few Photos From His Time In Nashville, Including A New ‘Job’
Taking to Instagram Stories, Foster shared a few touching moments from the event. In one, he could be seen with Brooklyn outside of Music Row in Nashville. This post was also shared by Bourque herself.
Foster actually appeared at a concert with fellow American Idol alumni back on June 4. In another share, Foster shared another job he had during the event. As he wrote in a caption, “I’m serving free cookie dough from 12:30-1:00 PM at no baked cookie dough in Nashville.”

The two first met in high school and started dating in May 2024, celebrating their first-anniversary last month. At the time, Foster talked about the milestone on Instagram. According to the publication, he shared, “It’s been an amazing year and you’ve been beside me every step of the way,” he gushed. “Happy 1 year anniversary. I love you so much.”
Around this time, Bourque also talked about her relationship with Foster on Instagram. At the time, she wrote, “Wow I’m still reminiscing this special moment!! I feel so blessed to love and be loved by someone who is so genuine, thoughtful, and so, so very sweet. You make me so happy all I can do is jump up and down!! I just love our love.” She also added, “And YES he is VERY romantic, haha.”
Following his time on American Idol, Foster has also been releasing new music. This included a Post-Idol release of his original song, “Tell That Angel I Love Her.”
