Josh King wowed audiences during his time competing on American Idol. However, a recent, fun event took a sad turn, as Josh had to be rushed to the hospital. So, what happened with this situation, and is King okay? What do we know so far?
Josh King Made An Impression On American Idol Fans
Josh King made an impression on American Idol fans from the moment of his very first audition. Instantly, he surprised the judges with his jazzy, piano rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” He proved right out of the gate that he has a unique gift when it comes to songwriting and arrangement, and he put it on full display from this very first audition.
Due to the first impression he made on both the judges and American Idol audiences, he was able to take that and run with it, all the way to an eighth-place finish on the most recent season of the reality singing competition. Even though he did not win it all, he certainly made a good showing.

King Rushed To The Hospital, What Happened?
Based on the latest updates from American Idol contestant Josh King, he recently attended a songwriting retreat with other contestants from Season 23 of the singing competition. However, what started as a fun retreat eventually took a somber turn, as Josh suffered from “excruciating pain.”
Following this, the singer was rushed to the hospital. Josh King went on to share that the beginning of the songwriting retreat went well, as he and several other contestants spent time at Nina Daig’s house in Virginia. However, Josh went on to add that he started to feel a little “iffy.”
Josh went on to say, “Went to sleep and woke up the next morning entirely unable to move. I was in such excruciating pain that I evacuated anything that remained in my stomach 😀.”

American Idol: Josh King Details Horrific Health Incident
Spilling more details about this recent health incident to his followers on social media, Josh went on to say, “So, Nina’s husband took me to the ER, and I spent the rest of the weekend hospitalized. My heart rate was a steady 125-130 bpm for most of Saturday (resting), and any ounce of movement hurt like hell.”
Josh continued, saying, “I don’t quite know what it was exactly. (Official diagnosis is SIRS, but even they were questioning that) But the doctor said there was a ton of strain on my heart as a result and I had to be monitored for the next two nights. The cause was a combination of things, dehydration, fatigue, stress, heat exhaustion, etc.”
The good news is, Josh King went on to say that he is now on the “mend,” and many American Idol fans are wishing him well following this ordeal.
