Iranian lawmakers chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” Wednesday after passing a bill to suspend cooperation with the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog group.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf vowed that Tehran would accelerate its nuclear program after 221 lawmakers voted in favor of keeping the International Atomic Energy Agency out of Iran, with only one lawmaker abstaining, state-affiliated news outlet Nournews reported.

Following the vote, lawmakers reportedly cheered for the demise of the US and Israel, which have both bombarded Tehran’s nuclear facilities to curb its development of atomic weapons.

Qalibaf accused the IAEA of putting its “international credibility up for sale” when it refused to condemn the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“For this reason, the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran will suspend its cooperation with the (IAE) Agency until the security of the nuclear facilities is guaranteed, and move at a faster pace with the country’s peaceful nuclear program,” he said.
