Carrie Underwood has American Idol to thank for massive success. She won Season 4 of the reality TV singing competition when she was just 21. Exactly twenty years later, she returned to her roots as a judge on the show.
American Idol has gone through a lot of changes since Carrie Underwood won in 2005. The show jumped networks from Fox to ABC. The competition has seen a revolving door of judges over the years. Ratings haven’t been great in recent seasons, but that all changed for Season 23. Carrie Underwood joined Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan at the judges’ table. She replaced pop star Katy Perry, who left after Season 22.
American Idol was among the shows ABC renewed in May when they announced a second season of the Golden Bachelor dating show. Carrie Underwood’s tenure on the singing competition for Season 23 was a major hit with viewers, but will she return for Season 24?

She’s one of the most in-demand stars for hosting gigs, award shows, and tours. Fans are even clamoring for her to headline the Super Bowl in 2026. She has a lot on her plate. Her future with American Idol is still up in the air. She told Entertainment Tonight last month that she doesn’t know yet if she’ll return for another season.

The last few years have been grueling for Carrie Underwood. She kicked off a Las Vegas Residency in 2021 that was only supposed to last for a year. However, it was extended several times due to popular demand. The residency finally wrapped up in April 2025.
The singer recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry to help usher in the venue’s iconic 100th anniversary. But aside from that, she only has a handful of tour dates on her website for the rest of the year.
Carrie Underwood Shares Reminder About Good & Evil
Carrie Underwood is a well-known singer, but she’s also a wife and a mother. She shares two children, Isaiah and Jacob, with her husband, Mike Fisher. She tied the knot with the former professional hockey player in 2010.
When she’s not busy touring or judging TV singing competitions, Carrie Underwood relaxes at home in Tennessee. She calls the massive 400-acre estate her farm, where she owns animals, including livestock, horses, and sheep.
The singer recently had an interesting experience while feeding the animals on the farm. She took to Instagram to share the details about the experience that reminded her about good and evil in the world.
While she was feeding the animals, she made a stop at the orchard to see if the berries she used for pink lemonade were ripe. She was moved to pray while picking berries off the bushes. But just as she started praying, she was surprised by a creature in the bushes. Carrie Underwood saw a snake in the bushes and was reminded of good versus evil.
“The devil is always there…watching…lurking…even when we feel at our closest with God. Being a Christian isn’t a free ticket out of trouble. The world is full of evil…BUT God is with us,” she reminded her followers.
She didn’t let the snake interrupt her, though. She finished her prayer and continued on with the day. Her followers appreciated the reminder to always be on the lookout for evil that lurks about.
